2008 promises to be an exciting year with lots to see and do.

There will be events at Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth House to mark 400 years since the death of "Bess of Hardwick", the first Lady of Chatsworth who became the second most powerful woman in Tudor England after Queen Elizabeth I. See "www.bessofhardwick.co.uk". .
The unique Well Dressing spectacle of Peak villages is from May to September. The Buxton Festival in 9-27 July and popular International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival from 2-24 August.
The Museum of Childhood at Sudbury Hall (National Trust) opened in March 2008 after a comprehensive re-fit and nostalgic adults will recognise toys from the past together with up to date interactive and hands on activities for children!
